I was born in Argentina 38 years ago. I am a pilgrim social activist, unprofessionalized intellectual, free-play advocate, co-creator of many open-collaborative projects, and documentor of alternatives around the planet. I have been collaborating with processes of social transformation for more than 25 years now, many of them around digital commons & FLOSS from a political dimension. Currently, I participate in the Global Tapestry of Alternatives (https://globaltapestryofalternatives.org) as a member of the Facilitation Team, also coordinate the research-action Acervus Project (http://intro.acerv.us/) and is involved in various thematic networks, such as REEVO, the largest alternative education network of Latin America (https://reevo.org/#en), the Ecoversities Alliance (https://ecoversities.org) and the Enlivened Cooperative (https://enlivenedcooperative.org/).
I would like to actively help connect the organization with radical grassroots alternatives, especially in the Global South. I believe it is essential to ground the political discussion in grassroots perspectives, drawing on the perspective of the so-called tools for conviviality (Illich), low-impact appropriate technologies, and the circulation of technical and political knowledge within/by the communities themselves. We need to act around the communalization of infrastructures that are not limited to hardware: they encompass a broad spectrum that, in my view, ranges from the discussion of “just energy transitions” to the recovery of spaces of hospitality, philia and solidarity in their political-transformative dimension.
